A proof-of-concept for a scent-driven puzzle/exploration game under the theme of "Dog".
"Untitled Dog Game" was the product of a programming assignment I was given during the start of my second year at the University of Portsmouth. The goals was to use intermediate programming patterns and data structures within the code to create an expandable proof of concept for a game under the theme of "dog". Above is a video detailing the game's mechanics from a design perspective with a focus on efficiency.
I was responsible for about everything seen in the video. The programming, blockouts, etc. were all me. Despite being informed by my tutor that the demo was "graduate show-worthy", I never expanded upon the project. I learned a lot about state-switching, and what information should and should not be revealed to the player for interesting gameplay.
